This event introduced the interdisciplinary field of neurohumanities, which bridges neuroscience with the arts and humanities. A panel of speakers discussed the field’s development, its applications in clinical practice and medical education, and offered guidance for students on how to start a neurohumanities chapter. Speakers are: Mattia Rosso, Yale New Haven Hospital; Galina Gheihman, Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham; Tatiana Greige, MaineHealth Maine Medical Center; Cori Polonski, University of Pittsburgh.

Neuroethics 101

The Neuroethics 101 event provided an introduction to the field of neuroethics. Experts from both academia and industry backgrounds offered insights into their work in this field, highlighting its interdisciplinary nature, real-world applications and fostering a deeper understanding of ethical considerations in neuroscience research, clinical practice, and technology development. Speakers are: Asad Beck, University of Washington; Sara Berger, IBM; and Laura Cabrera, Penn State University.

Neuroscience & Public Policy 101

March 18, 2024

This event provided an introduction to brain-related policy work, including the importance of patient advocacy, community engagement, and working with policymakers to support brain research. Speakers are: Jen French, Neurotech Network; Katie Sale, American Brain Coalition; and Dr. Mark Rasenick, University of Illinois Chicago.

Neuroarchitecture 101

March 13, 2024

This event provided an introduction to brain-related studies in architecture, as well as a Q&A session to provide career guidance for students and professionals interested in becoming more involved in the field. Speakers are: Meredith Banasiak, BA/Science; and Margaret R Tarampi, Spatial Cognition and Physical Environments (SCaPE) Laboratory at the University of Hartford.
