How a Neurotech Entrepreneur is Breaking Barriers

Event Description: Dr. Efraín Torres holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, serves as the CEO & Co-Founder of neurotech startup Adialante, and thinks deeply about neuroethics issues such as how innovative neurotechnology can be made accessible to all. Dr. Torres is also a first generation American whose parents didn’t graduate from middle school. How did the son of immigrants on the southside of Chicago, living with eight people in a 2-bedroom apartment, grow up to become the CEO of a high-growth startup aimed at making MRI more portable and affordable?

In this special event sponsored by the Dana Foundation Career Network in Neuroscience & Society, Dr. Torres will be interviewed by Career Network Director Francis Shen about his inspiring story. We will learn how Dr. Torres has broken barriers and created his own neuroscience path. After the interview portion, we will turn to Q&A, so bring your questions!
